Together with the Work with Nature Foundation, we are committed to protecting the rainforest in Costa Rica.
Adoption of 700 m² of rainforest
The rainforest in Costa Rica is one of the most beautiful and special places on earth with a very high biodiversity of plants and animals. Because of the special relationship we have with the country, we are happy to work to protect the beautiful nature. After adopting a large piece of rainforest in 2019, we adopted another 700 m² this year!
Nature Conservation Act
Costa Rica's rainforest is essential to preserve for current and future generations. Adopt Rainforest does this by purchasing land with rainforest. The land that has been purchased is placed directly under Costa Rica's conservation law, protecting it forever from commercial exploitation.
Local involvement
With the help of a local ranger, involvement and awareness among the local population is ensured so that trees are not cut down or animals are poached. Trapcam images show that various mammals have returned to the area!
Research Center
When rainforest is adopted, Adopteer Regenwoud brings it under the forest law. This makes cutting or thinning a criminal offense. Employees are also present locally to guarantee protection. In addition, a research center has been started on site where students from all over the world come to research plants and animals.
