DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Spathiphyllum hybrids, also known as the Peace Lily, find their origin in the tropical areas of America, from Mexico all the way to Brazil and the Amazon rainforest. The plant has evolved its habitat to the rainforest, where it thrives in damp and shady areas. Moreover, this plant species has become popular as a houseplant in various parts of the world, thanks to its aesthetic appeal and ability to grow in less ideal conditions.

Characteristics
The Spathiphyllum hybrids are distinguished by their typical white flowers, which somewhat resemble spoons, hence the name Peace Lily. They have large, dark-green leaves that are shiny and shaped like a point. The plant can grow up to 120 cm tall and flowers several times a year. Even though they are often kept as a single plant, they can grow in groups and create a dense, forest-like effect.

Care
The care for the Spathiphyllum hybrids can be described as fairly easy. The plant needs a large amount of indirect light and regular watering to keep the soil damp. Ensure to avoid water stagnation to prevent root rot. During the summer months, the Spathiphyllum hybrids require higher humidity; this can be achieved by regular misting. Finally, the Spathiphyllum hybrids need periodic feeding with a fertiliser for houseplants.
