Origin
The Hedera helix 'White Wonder' 21/tray, also known as the Ivy, is a plant species native to Europe. This deciduous climbing and ground-covering plant, which can also grow in the shade, is popular for its fast growth and hardiness. Additionally, the Hedera helix 'White Wonder' doesn't have any specific geographical preferences and can adapt to both urban and rural environments.
Characteristics
The Hedera helix 'White Wonder' is characterised by its vibrant, wrinkled leaves with unique white edges. This decorative foliage plant can grow up to four metres long and has aerial roots which it can use to attach to various surfaces. The plant blooms with inconspicuous green-yellow flowers from September to November, followed by black berries in winter. It's a very tolerant plant that can even grow in heavy shade and poor soil.
Care
When caring for the Hedera helix 'White Wonder', it should be noted that the plant should be placed in well-draining soil. The plant thrives in places with sun to partial shade, but can also grow in full shade. Regular pruning promotes the growth and health of the plant and keeps the size under control. An annual fertilisation in the spring with a complete fertiliser is strongly recommended for optimal growth and flowering.
