Origin
The Peperomia obtusifolia 'Green', also known as the Baby Rubber Plant, originates from South America, from Mexico to northern Argentina. In its native environment, this species grows in the tropical rainforest underneath the canopy of larger trees. In the wild, the plant predominantly grows in the shade, in a moderate temperature and humidity.

Characteristics
The Peperomia obtusifolia 'Green' is an evergreen, perennial plant known for its glossy, oval leaves which are thick and fleshy. The plant can grow up to 25 cm in height, but often remains smaller in indoor conditions. Its compact growth habit and attractive leaf pattern make this plant a popular houseplant. In addition to its green leaves, the plant occasionally produces small, white flower spikes that protrude above the foliage.

Care
In terms of care, the Peperomia obtusifolia 'Green' does not require much effort. The plant prefers semi-shade and does not tolerate direct sunlight well. In terms of watering, the plant needs little; watering once a week is sufficient and even less in winter. Overly wet soil can cause root rot, so it's imperative that excess water can drain off well. The plant can survive well at room temperature and enjoys high humidity. As the plant originally comes from a tropical climate, it will also need to be protected from the cold in the winter.
