Origin
The Alocasia 'Silver Dragon' belongs to the Araceae family, also known as the Arum family. This unique plant has its origins in the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it adapts to the humid conditions and shady forests.
Characteristics
Distinctive for the Alocasia 'Silver Dragon' are the striking, heart-shaped leaves with a deep-cut vein pattern. The leaves are silver-grey in colour, with dark green veins that sharply contrast against the background. This plant has a compact growth habit and can reach up to approximately 60 centimeters in height, depending on the conditions.
Care
In terms of care, the Alocasia 'Silver Dragon' prefers a location with high humidity and plenty of indirect sunlight. The soil should be - following its natural habitat - well-draining but constantly slightly moist. The plant doesn't tolerate drought and therefore requires regular watering. Temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius are ideal for this plant.
