DescriptionSpecifications

Origin
The Saxifraga arendsii, also known as Mossy Saxifrage, finds its origin in the Northern hemisphere. This plant is part of the 'Saxifragaceae' family, commonly known as saxifrages. They prefer to grow in rocky places and ravines, which results in the name 'saxifrage', which literally means 'rock breaker'.

Characteristics
The Saxifraga arendsii is renowned for its delicate beauty. The plant consists of small, evergreen leafed rosettes from which flower stems emerge. The plant produces beautiful small berries in various colours, which mainly bloom in the spring. Varying in height from a few centimetres to around 30 centimetres, the Saxifraga arendsii varies in colour from white to pink and red.

Care
Saxifraga arendsii requires specific care to thrive. The plant prefers a position in full sun to semi-shade and well-drained soil. It requires regular watering but can withstand periods of drought. However, too much water can cause root rot. To promote blooming, it is recommended to remove older flowers so new ones have room to grow. Fertilising the plant each spring with general garden fertiliser improves health and growth.
